Air quality and Oil availability are converging to form a new energy vision for the future, which includes energy systems not requiring the atmosphere to dilute the products of combustion. Solar heat and electricity (fusion at a safe distance), terrestrial fusion (close up and personal), nuclear fission and breeding fuel cycles, Carbon dioxide sequestration for coal fired power plants and Wind will be discussed as will hydrogen as an energy transport medium.
Man is testing the upper limits of the atmospheres capacity to dilute the product of combustion of fossil fuels. It is not a question of finding enough fossil fuel, but can we cope with the air after we have made it un-breathable. We must get our energy without contaminating the air.
