Continuing interest in developing large area, high-resolution immersive displayenvironments has led to an on-going technology roadmap study. This paper discusses theresults of this effort, including a review of the market opportunity and timing, thearchitecture characteristics of Electronic Display Fabric (EDF), the technologyconsiderations and challenges, and the primary and enabling technology candidates.
Results of early R&D efforts are summarized.
